Flyford Green Playground
15th November 2021
It was June 2019 when the Parish Council conducted a public consultation about the future of Flyford Green. Since then a lot of water has gone under the bridge but the plans and aspirations of the community that were identified then are now coming to fruition. There have been benches on the green now for a while and the play area came into use at the end of October. This followed a lot of hard work securing the funding. Our fall back was always to borrow the money should we be unable to secure a grant but happily on the second attempt funding was provided from the Wychavon Legacy Fund. Lockdown and supply shortages delayed things but now we have a fabulous site for the younger members of the community.
The plans are not complete and on the day of writing the village sign has been delivered so this will be resplendent on the corner in the next few days. Now that the major works are out of the way the final touches of the landscaping scheme will be completed by next spring. This should add to the community garden and the wild flowers that have bloomed this year. We will also be making changes to the gas tank and providing another litter bin by the play area.
